CBA playoffs: Shanghai beat Zhejiang to even series
The Shanghai Sharks drew their CBA quarterfinal series 1-1 after taking down the Zhejiang Golden Bulls 110-100 on Sunday.
Playing on the road, the Sharks did well in rebounding, grabbing 53 throughout the game, five more than Zhejiang.
Dwayne Bacon notched a team-best 24 points for the Sharks. Li Hongquan, the season's Most Improved Player, played more than 43 minutes and contributed 18 points.
The two teams played a tough match, going into the half-time break level at 48-48.
Zhejiang was once 66-59 ahead in the third quarter, only to see Shanghai catch up again with straight baskets from Bacon and Eric Bledsoe.
Zhejiang once again took a slender lead at 88-86 in the final quarter. However, Shanghai delivered a 17-5 run to establish a 10-point advantage with less than two minutes.
Zhejiang shooters tried to get back into the game by attempting more three pointers, but their efforts weren't enough to change the result, with Carlik Jones scoring a team-high 23 for Zhejiang.
The next two games in the best-of-five series will take place in Shanghai.
In Sunday's other quarterfinal, the Xinjiang Flying Tigers overwhelmed the Guangzhou Loong Lions 113-86, giving Xinjiang a 2-0 lead in the series.
Dominique Jones got 22 points for Xinjiang, while Abdusalam Abdurexit and Qi Lin had 20 points each.
